Abstract:

Thermal Hall effect is becoming a more and more important experimental approach to probe extraordinary physics in condensed matter systems. In the recent years, unexpectingly large thermal Hall effect has been observed in a few important insulators, creating much puzzles among the community. In this talk I will explain our physical explanations to these observations, and discuss the follow-up experimental results that verify our theories. I will also picture the general roadmap towards a better established framework for the phenomenological study for thermal Hall experiments in the future.
