Abstract:

Topological phases are usually associated with or even characterized by their nontrivial edge states. In this talk, I will focus on two dimensional bosonic or fermionic string-net models. On their boundary, there exist a class of edge Hamiltonians that can be solved using the method of quantum integrable systems. These gapless edge states possess some nontrivial dualities or categorical symmetries related to the bulk topological phases.
