Abstract:
The method of characteristics provides a powerful new point of view on TTbar-deformations and related deformations. In this talk, I will prove that TTbar flow is equivalent to characteristic flows. Exploiting this point of view, I will re-derive a number of important known results and obtain interesting new ones, such as the equivalence between the dynamical coordinate transformation and the generalized light-cone gauge method. Finally, I will show how to extend TTbar-deformation to TTbar-like deformation in higher dimensions and (TTbar)^α-deformation in 2d with generic α.
