Abstract:
In the first part of the talk I introduce the Sachdev-Ye-Kitaev model (SYK) and Jackiw-Teitelboim gravity (JT) with a special emphasis on its quantum chaotic features. In the second part of the talk, I explain under what conditions different SYK configurations are dual to black holes, traversable wormholes, Euclidean wormholes and Keldysh wormholes in JT gravity. In the latter, related to a SYK coupled to a bath, I explore consequences of this unexpected relation between quantum gravity and dissipative quantum matter. Finally, I provide arguments suggesting that only the late dynamics of both models is controlled by random matrix theory.
