Abstract:

Recently, there has been renewed interest in the application of von Neuman Algebras to quantum gravity. In the AdS/CFT framework, it has been shown how to define generalized entropies as a consequence of the underlying algebra of observables. In this talk, I will discuss two interesting models related to an underlying type II1 algebra.  The TTbar deformation and an infalling observer modeled as a small probe black hole. I will describe both models in the context of flow-geometries. This talk is based on arXiv:2307.04233.
