Kavli Institute for Theoretical Sciences, (Kavli ITS) hosted a Physics Journal Club on May 11, 2017.  The participants include scholars and students from Institute of Physics, Chinese Academy of Sciences, Peking University, Tsinghua University, Remin University, Beijing Normal University, Beijing University of Science and Technology, and visiting scholars from Rochester University in the US, Nankai University, and Zhejiang University, and other institutes.  Dr. Long Zhang at International Center for Quantum Materials, Peking Univ. delivered a journal club black-board talk to introduce to the audience the recent development on ‘floquet time crystal’. Time crystal is a new concept first introduced by Frank Wilczek a couple of years ago. Recent theoretical and experimental developments have greatly revived its interest.

The journal club appears to be very much welcomed by young students as a platform to learn about most updated development and exchange ideas.  The Kavli ITS is considering to cooperate with some other institutes in Beijing to organize regular journal club talks.
