Postdoctoral Fellowship Opportunities at Kavli ITS, UCAS

  • Published: 2019-06-25

The Kavli Institute for Theoretical Sciences (Kavli ITS) at the University of Chinese Academy of Sciences (UCAS), Beijing, is one of the twenty network members of Kavli institutes worldwide. Cosponsored by the Chinese Academy of Sciences (CAS), UCAS and the Kavli foundation, Kavli ITS aims to establish itself as an international center of excellence in theoretical sciences. The current research in Kavli ITS is focused on condensed matter theory, high energy theory and their interdisciplinary area. We keep inviting qualified individuals to apply for multiple postdoctoral fellow positions. Successful applicants are expected to undertake independent research or collaborate with other researchers in Kavli ITS.

The postdoctoral appointment will be for 2 to 3 years and can start at any time, with the possibility of renewal. Qualified applicants will also be considered simultaneously for the “CAS special research associates program”. The yearly stipends for the regular postdoctoral fellows and the special research associates are internationally competitive.

The Kavli ITS hosts multiple workshops and conferences in various areas of physics each year. Postdoctoral fellows are encouraged to participate in and to organize these programs to establish international connections and collaborations. The Kavli ITS will provide sustainable traveling funding for postdoctoral fellows to visit other world-leading research institutes during their appointment term.

Candidates are required to have a Ph.D. degree prior to the start of the positions. All qualified candidates, both in China and outside China, are encouraged to apply and will be given equal consideration.

Applicants should submit: a copy of curriculum vitae including a list of publications, a summary of research accomplishments, a statement of research interests and research plan, two or three representative publications, and two or three letters of recommendation sent directly by referees. All application materials should be submitted electronically as one PDF file to Mr. YAN Peiming (yanpeiming@ucas.ac.cn) or to the faculty members you would work with.
